GentleFeast ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered personalized nutrition platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
When you use GentleFeast, we may collect:
- Account information — your name and email address
- Health and dietary data — food tolerances, allergens, dietary preferences, health goals, medications, and lifestyle information you provide during onboarding
- Chat messages — conversations with Nora, our AI nutritionist
- Usage data — pages visited, recipes viewed, and quiz responses
2. How We Use Your Information
- Generate personalized recipes tailored to your dietary needs
- Provide AI-powered nutrition recommendations through Nora
- Improve the accuracy and quality of our recommendations
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
- Respond to support requests
3. AI Processing
Your dietary profile and chat messages are processed by Google's Gemini AI to generate personalized recipes and nutrition advice. This data is sent to Google's API for processing but is not stored by Google beyond the duration of the request. We do not use your data to train AI models.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in our database hosted by Supabase (PostgreSQL). Recipe images are hosted on BunnyCDN. Our application is hosted on Vercel. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
5. Email Communications
We use Resend for transactional emails such as magic link sign-ins and account notifications. Nora may also send personalized nutrition guidance via email. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
6. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following services only as needed to operate the platform:
- Google Gemini — AI recipe generation and nutrition advice
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Vercel — application hosting
- BunnyCDN — image storage and delivery
- Resend — transactional email delivery
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication (session management via Supabase). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing

9. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for service improvement.
10. Children's Privacy
GentleFeast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of GentleFeast after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
