Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 8 cup water
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 2 unit limes
  • 1 unit orange
  • 1 inch fresh ginger
  • 1 strip orange peel
  • 5.5 sprigs mint
  • 1 as needed ice
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar
  • 0.25 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 unit lemon
  • 3.5 unit whole allspice berries
  • 0.25 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest

Instructions

  1. 1Combine dried hibiscus flowers, 8 cups water, Fresh Ginger slices, Orange Peel, and whole allspice berries in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the liquid is deep red.
  2. 2Remove from heat and let steep for another 10-15 minutes. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the solids.
  3. 3Stir in sugar, agave nectar, kosher salt, lime juice, lemon juice, orange juice, and pineapple juice until sweeteners are dissolved. Adjust sweetness and tartness to taste.
  4. 4Chill the concentrate thoroughly in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  5. 5Serve over ice, garnished with fresh lime slices, orange zest, and mint sprigs.
