Ingredients
- 1.5 cups brown lentils
- 0.5 cup Gluten-Free Bread Crumbs
- 1 cup mushroom
- 0.5 cup onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 0.25 cup parsley
- 2 tablespoons flaxseed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 pieces Gluten-Free Hamburger Bun
Instructions
- 1Rinse and cook the lentils until tender, then drain any excess water.
- 2Finely chop the mushrooms and onion. Mince the garlic.
- 3Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the mushrooms, onion, and garlic, cooking until soft.
- 4In a large bowl, mash the cooked lentils. Stir in the sautéed mushrooms, onions, and garlic.
- 5Add the whole wheat breadcrumbs, ground flaxseed, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the lentil mixture. Mix until well combined.
- 6Form the mixture into four burger patties.
- 7Heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through.
- 8Toast the gluten-free buns lightly.
- 9Serve the lentil burgers on the toasted buns. Optional: add toppings like lettuce, tomato, or avocado for extra flavor and nutrition.
